Memorial Drive Ministries

In service to the refugee and neighborhood community Memorial Drive Ministries (MDM) seeks to provide a safe and transformational space for literacy and educational services to adults and students, worshiping communities, and vocational training. This international community hosts five different worshiping groups, a sewing program, Just Bakery, after-school programs for refugee children and SO MUCH MORE.

Morningside’s Involvement

  • Financial Gifts: Morningside gave one of the first ’seed’ grants to MDM in 2017, which helped birth the wonderful programs that are there today.

  • Work Days: MDM is always looking to improve its large campus, and they often have need for volunteers to work on building and clean up projects.

  • After School Programs: One of MDM’s ministries is the Inspire after school program. Volunteers work with refugee students as they settle into life in the American school system and provide support and educational enrichment.
