Children's Choirs

Children ages pre-K through 5th grade are welcomed and encouraged to join the choirs at Morningside Presbyterian:

Children’s CHOIRs (Pre-K to 5th grade)

Children’s choirs meet Wednesday evenings throughout the school year in Room 001. Come for pizza dinner at 5:45 p.m. followed by The Melody Makers Choir rehearsal (pre-k through 1st grade) from 6:10–6:30 p.m., and 2nd–5th graders rehearsal (The Harmony Makers Choir) from 6:30–7:00 p.m. Children learn hymns and anthems which they sing in worship services. Learning how to sing as a group and how to be worship leaders through music is important. They learn the rudiments of music—keeping steady rhythms and learning to match pitch using Solfege methods. They also prepare to lead the congregation in worship for special services including the Children’s Christmas Pageant in December and Children’s Sabbath worship service each spring.
