Faith Development
What lessons can we take from being careful viewers of Jesus-films and Christ-figure films into our interaction with other film media?  Anna Miles will teach the final class in her series of classes on Faith and Film.

Parenting Class will welcome Dr. Mindy McGarrah Sharp, Associate Professor of Practical Theology in Pastoral Care at Columbia Theological Seminary.  We will discuss how our personal perspectives on God have to account for formative life experiences.

Children will talk about simple ways to celebrate  hope, love, joy and peace. They will continue this each week until Christmas.
Grades 6-12
Middle school and high school will be decorating the Christmas tree.

We would love to receive you into membership on Sunday, December 17. New Members' Class will meet from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in Baron's office. Walk-ins are always welcome, but we would love to know to expect you. Contact Baron with any additional questions you may have.

All are welcome at any time to worship at Morningside Presbyterian Church.  Weekly Sunday worship is at 11 a.m. with an early Service at 8:45 a.m. on Second Sundays (December 10). The Christmas Pageant is at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 10 with a fun chili cook-off afterwards (Please click here to sign up). Christmas Eve worship services are at 4 p.m. (family friendly service) and 8 p.m. (candlelight service).

Join other Morningside members and visitors under 40, for holiday cheer on Friday, December 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Magan and Daniel Ward (646 Hillpine Drive, Atlanta, GA 30306). If you'd like to learn about young adult small groups, contact Peter Tuuk or Michael Pittman
This year MPC has committed to adopting two large families at Nicholas House for the Christmas season. We are excited to be serving a single mother with four children (ages 8-16) and a grandmother with her three grandchildren (ages 10-18). Please consider taking your family out to shop for some of the items on the childrens' wish lists. Get their input on what a child their age might really love. Click here to sign up. On Saturday, December 9 at 3 p.m., just prior to the pageant rehearsal, we will host a gift wrapping party in Fellowship Hall, complete with hot cocoa and cookies for our MPC elves. If you are unable to attend, please drop off the gifts (labeled with the Family Code and age of the recipient) anytime prior to the wrap party.
MPC will honor the spiritual practice of Advent giving by collecting food for ICM. We will collect canned goods and other non-perishable foods during worship each Sunday from December 10 - 24 (including the early service this Sunday). We encourage the children and families to come forward during the service and place their items in a basket under the Chrismon tree. A barrel will be placed in the stairwell for larger items and mid-week donations.  ICM serves food to homeless and food-insecure neighbors in the 30306 and 30307 neighborhoods each Saturday from McIver Hall at Druid Hills Presbyterian Church. MPC participates every other month on the second Saturday, with our next opportunity on December 9 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. If you have volunteered in the past, feel free to arrive as late as 10:30 a.m. The pantry is located at McIver Hall beside Druid Hills Presbyterian Church, 1026 Ponce de Leon Ave, 30306. Please contact Laura Ulep or Nancy Collins 678.634.4572 if you are interested in helping.
Sarah and Peter Chatel will be hosting our Christmas get-together on Friday, December 8 at their home, 1130 East Rock Springs NE 30306.  Please plan to Uber or park at Haygood Methodist Church as parking is a challenge. The Chatels will be serving pork tenderloin, so please bring an appetizer, side or dessert and favorite beverage.
Hope to see you, and please share the invitation with others who may be new to Morningside and enjoy our group.
Our music ministry will be adding handbell players starting January. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings, 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. starting Thursday, January 4. The handbells play during worship service every six weeks. Please reach out to Jeff Peters or Jack Klotz to be a part of Morningside's handbell music ministry.
