Faith Development
On Sunday, Jennye Guy will lead the class, exploring the seven feasts that God designated as his "appointed times" in order to gain a basic understanding of their significance and why God ordained them.
Please note: class will begin at 9:30 a.m. for this four-week series.

Mardee will discuss Bible Versions for Various Stages and Ages.

Grades 1-5
Using memory games, the class will learn about Psalm 8, a song of Gratitude and Thanksgiving that King David wrote to praise God. 


Please join us this week to spruce up the church grounds! Wednesday, October 25 from 9 - 11:30 a.m., we'll be weeding and planting in the Memorial Garden. Saturday, October 28 from 9 - 11:30 a.m., we'll be weeding, pruning deadwood, and removing dead/ invasive plants.  If you can come either morning, please bring your own gloves, water bottle, and tools (with your name on them).  Email Mary Chapman if you plan to join us.

This week will be Commitment Sunday, and all are invited to come to the front of the church on Sunday to pledge support for Morningside in 2018. Our pledges allow for the church to plan its budget for the year ahead, as 96 percent of our funding comes from offerings. Please be a part of this special day. We will pledge financial support, but also our time and talent commitments through the Time & Talent forms. If you can't attend, you can also pledge at any time online
Invite your friends and neighbors to join us on Thursday, October 26 at 5:30 p.m. for our final Food Truck event of the year. Volunteers are welcome to arrive early to help set up or stay later to help clean up. 
Yoga and Yogasculpt (with weights) begins its second Fall session on Tuesday, October 31 and Thursday, November 2 at 11 a.m. in room 201.  Please join us for fun, fitness, flexibility, and strengthening! Wear comfy clothes and bring your Yoga mat. If you don't have one, we have extras.  The session runs for 6 weeks. For more information please contact Pam Sharpe
Saturday, October 28 at 7 p.m: Reformation Concert at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. A Free-will offering will be taken. MPC's Chancel Choir is participating. 
Sunday, November 5 at 11 a.m: The Chancel Choir presents John Rutter's "Requiem" as part of the All Saints Sunday service. Join us for both of these events.
Sunday, November 19: The Concert Choir from the University of South Carolina will lead in worship at 11 a.m., then will present a free concert at 3 p.m. Under the direction of Dr. Alicia Walker, as part of the concert the choir will sing one of choral music's most famous compositions - the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis (Collegium Regale) by Herbert Howells.
All Saints' Day is a day of observance in the liturgical calendar of the church in which we celebrate the lives of those whose race is run, who have kept the faith, and whose witness lives on among us in the communion of the saints. Please contact Baron or the church officewith the names of any loved ones lost over the past year. We will name and remember our dear friends and family members during the Great Prayer portion of the Lord's Supper, which will be served as part of the service.
Friday, November 10 is the annual FunRaiser for the preschool. This years event will be held at Paris on Ponce. Tickets are $75 which include food and drinks and feature a live auction. If you aren't able to attend, another way to support the preschool is through the silent auction on Bidding for Good, which has opportunities for purchasing local business, restaurant, salon, and fitness gift certificates and offers many other fun events. Please click here  for details. A preschool representative will be available during fellowship hour Sunday to help you get signed up to bid!
We urge you to stay after the 11 a.m. service on Sunday, November 12, for a short Congregational Meeting for the purpose of electing elders and deacons for the Classes of 2020, to hear a report from the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee, and to fill an elder vacancy in the Class of 2019.
