Faith Development
With Michael Morgan's leadership, the class will explore the second "generation" of singing in worship (1700-1950), looking at some of the original sources, and singing hymns from the English, Scottish, and American traditions.

Parenting Group will discuss fostering gratitude in our children with Sarah Beth Gehl.

Grades 1-5
This Sunday, children will learn how Elijah recruits Elisha.

PRESBYTERIAN DISASTER ASSISTANCE
In response to Hurricane Harvey, Irma, Maria and the earthquakes in Mexico, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is organizing a response to help those affected and restore hope. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is the emergency response and refugee program of the denomination, committed to the long-term journey of recovery of communities adversely affected by a crisis or catastrophic event. DINE AT EL TACO
We invite you to support the Preschool by having dinner at El Taco N. Highland today. Be sure to tell El Taco you are with the Preschool as they then give a percentage of the evening's profits to the school's programs.
 
BIENFAIT NEEDS WORK
Through no fault of his own, Bienfait is in great need of a new job and any work on the weekends he can get. He is a painter and carpenter and can do many other construction-related work. If anyone as a connection to a full time job or has work at their own home he can do, please contact  Holly Campbell or Sandy Ryan.
 
BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
This special service recognizes our animals that make an important contribution to the beauty in our lives. All Morningside members with pets are welcome to bring them on Sunday, October 1 at 6 p.m. so that we may bless them and give thanks to God for their life. We ask that your pet is properly restrained either by carrier or leash, and if your pet is not "pet friendly" please bring a picture of him/her. 
 
THEOLOGY ON TAP
Our next Theology on Tap will be hosted by Philip Hawkins on Tuesday, October 3 at 7 p.m. at the home of Pam and Ken Sharpe (1700 Timberland Road, Atlanta, 30345). Please RSVP to the church office.
 
SUPPORT INTOWN WITH FUN
Join us for a great evening of bbq, brews, and music on Tuesday, October 3 at the new Monday Night Brewing facility in the West End. Tickets are now available for $25, which gets you free beer, bbq from Sweet Auburn BBQ, and live music. Stop by anytime between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. for a great time with all proceeds supporting Intown. MORNINGSIDE MINGLE
The deacons invite you to come enjoy fellowship with new and old Morningside friends at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 7 at the home of Tish and Charles Woolley for this year's Morningside Mingle. Food and drinks will be provided. This event is for adults only. Please look out for an invite from Paperless Post, and be sure to inform one of the deacons if you don't receive it. We ask that you RSVP via the invite by Saturday, October 7.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR OCTOBER 8
Please plan to stay after service on Sunday, October 8 for the presentation of Morningside's 3 year Strategic Plan, 2018-2020. The presentation will include insights and learnings from the congregational survey and will share prioritized initiatives identified from congregational input throughout the past months. The presentation will immediately follow the 8:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. services.
