THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
"Perseverance is failing nineteen times and succeeding the twentieth." - Julie Andrews

SPECIAL THANK YOU
Thanks to the hard work of Morningside work crew on Saturday, July 15, a second location of the Mommy and Me preschool and adult literacy program for refugee families is set to open in August.  Our friend and church member, Georgine Kinumbe-Bauma will be a student with her kids, Dorcas and Ezekial.  The location is in walking distance of her apartment at The Lakes but the roads are busy.  It will be easier for her to get to class and back with the donation of a double stroller and rain cover.  If you have either to donate, contact Katye Watts.

BACK TO SCHOOL LUNCHEON
The teachers will return from their summer break on Wednesday, July 26 to prepare for their students' return and we want to celebrate and appreciate them with a "back to school" luncheon on their first day. If you would like to contribute to decorations and/ or help with the luncheon, please contact Leslie Prince. If you'd like the privilege of shaping the life of a child as a tutor (a once/month commitment) Baron Mullis is your contact. For any other questions, speak to shepherd Leslie Prince.

RIDES TO CHURCH
Sign up to bring our sponsored refugee family, the Kinumbe-Bauma family, to or from church or arrange an Uber and meet them at coffee and conversation! Sign Up Genius is here.

MEET AND GREET CONTINUES
Please join us for time of fellowship with Mardee on Sunday, July 30from 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on the  playground and picnic area so that Mardee can meet the families of the church and get to know the children better.

FAMILY MISSION PROJECT AT NICHOLAS HOUSE
Please join us on Saturday, July 29 at 10:45 a.m. as we will be planting flowers, painting brightly colored picnic tables, mulching and clearing the yard for residents to enjoy outdoor activities at Nicholas House (a transitional home for homeless families who are seeking long term housing). After work we will enjoy lunch and fellowship at Tin Lizzy's Cantina (Grant Park). Please rsvp to Katye Watts.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We are in need of volunteers Saturday, August 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Intown Collaborative Ministries pantry to distribute food to homeless and in-need folks in our area. The pantry is located at McIver Hall beside Druid Hills Presbyterian Church. Please contact Laura Ulepor Nancy Collins if you are interested in helping.
