THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
"Christianity has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and not tried." - G.K. Chesterton

TIME TO CELEBRATE TEACHERS
Time to celebrate teachers with our Dobbs Partnership: It's hard to believe that on July 26th, the teachers return from their summer break to prepare for their students' return...and as in years past, we want to celebrate and appreciate them with a "back to school" luncheon on their first day. If you would like to contribute to decorations and / or help with the luncheon, please contact Leslie Prince. If you'd like the privilege of shaping the life of a child as a tutor (a once/month commitment) Baron Mullis is your contact. For any other questions, speak to shepherd Leslie Prince.

MORNINGSIDE SINGS!Looking forward to this year's gala, we continue our tradition of asking members to consider becoming part of the 2017 Morningside Sings! Patrons' Circle.  Those considering a donation of $100 or more are invited to a special reception where they will preview select magical musical moments from this year's production.  The reception will be at the home of Greg Wolters and Jeff Adams (160 The Prado) on Thursday, July 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  Please R.S.V.P. to the church office if you plan to attend.

WOULD YOU LIKE FRESH FLOWERS IN WORSHIP?
Would you like to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, new baby or anniversary with flowers in worship? The sign-up sheet for flowers is on the bulletin board outside the Session room. Pick the date, sign your name, provide your email and phone number or contact Georgia Marshall or Lynn Daniel for details. We will guide you through the process and our worship will be enhanced by the beauty of God's earth.

MOMMY AND ME VOLUNTEERS
MPC is having a one day work project on Saturday, July 15 at 9 a.m. to renovate space for the new Mommy and Me facility at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. Our work will go a long way in securing a spot for our new member Georgine Kinumbe-Bauma. Mommy and Me is a well respected women's refugee literacy program, which also provides child care and enrichment while the students are learning. We will be painting as well as replacing ceiling tiles in the entryway. Please contact Holly Campbell (404.435.0676) for details and to sign up.

RIDES TO CHURCH
Sign up to bring our sponsored refugee family, the Kinumbe-Bauma family, to or from church or arrange an Uber and meet them at coffee and conversation! Sign Up Genius is here.

MPP HAS AN OPENING
As families move, Morningside Presbyterian Preschool has had openings become available for one Three year old student and one PreK student. Tell your friends and neighbors to grab them up quickly! Contact Melinda Sandkam at 404.685.8758 or via email today. We also have a few openings for each week of summer camp still available.

DONUT DAYS WITH MARDEE
Please join us for time of fellowship with Mardee on Sunday mornings July 9 - July 30 from 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Children's Ministries will host donuts and light refreshments on the playground and picnic area so that Mardee can meet the families of the church and get to know the children better.
