Jim Martin, professor at GSU and former state legislator, will lead us in a session on discerning where we stand on local issues concerning our city and counties.
Search for the King: The magi were traveling from the east searching for Jesus. The magi had not been waiting for the birth of the Messiah for hundreds of years as the Jews had. Rather, they came because they had seen a new star and believed the appearance of the new star meant a king had been born. They were searching for this new king.

We are looking for volunteers to work from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on one or more days at Shearith Israel's (SI) Rebecca's Tent.  Here's what we currently have available: Wednesday, January 11 (one opening), Saturday, January 14 (two openings) and Sunday, January 15 (two openings). Please help us fill these dates up for January! You may sign up on the signup sheet located on the mission board, or simply click here
With the move of a family to California, we have two 3-day Threes openings at present - and Older Twos MWF opening. These are available for students immediately this school year. This Friday, January 13 is our last Prospective Parent Tour at 9:15 a.m. for those interested in registration that begins for 2017 - 18school year on Wednesday, February 1. Contact Director Melinda Sandkam mpp@morningsidepc.org to let her know you can attend or to set up another tour time.
Sunday afternoon, January 15 at 3 p.m, MPC will host a 125 - voice youth choir cocert. Five choirs combined since 1993 to form Jubilate! They gather each MLK weekend to rehearse then sing at churches. Each summer they tour together. The concert is free. Come support these young singers. 
We will head to J.W. Dobbs Elementary on Wednesday, January 18 at 10:30 a.m. to continue developing our wonderful relationship with both the students and staff. If you would like to read to the students please arrive to the church by 10:15 a.m
All are welcome to attend Third Thursday Theology with Baron Mullis on Thursday, January 19. If you plan to attend, please rsvp to office@morningsidepc.org.
