NO NEED FOR A DEBATE
It's time to nominate Elders for the Session, Deacons for the Board of Deacons, and Members of the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee. If you haven't already, please fill out the nomination forms which will be located in this Sunday's bulletin, the Narthex, and the Welcome Center. Let your voice be heard by choosing your nominee! The Officer Nominating Committee will announce the final slate of officers on Sunday, October 16.  Actual elections will take place at a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, October 30.
 
BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS THIS SUNDAY!
Morningside members and their animals are invited to gather on the lawn at 6 p.m. this Sunday, October 2 for a special service in which we give thanks to God for all of creation. By blessing our animals we are thanking God and expressing our love for them. Please remember to appropriately restrain your animals by leash or carrier during this special service.
 
GRAB YOUR LANTERN, FLASHLIGHT OR BLINKING HAT
Are you ready to join Journey men's Shelter on Sunday, October 2 from 7 - 9:30 p.m?  They will be having a kick-off event for their year-long campaign "Shine a Light on Homelessness."  The kick-off includes a 1-mile lighted walk starting at the shelter and ending with a reception at the historic Highland Inn ballroom for drinks, coffee, and dessert.
