Sameera Fazili, senior visiting advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank will take a look at the history and trends in income mobility in the United States and possible remedies for immobility.

Children
Preschool and Elementary children will continue to learn about the fruit of the Spirit. This week they will hear the story of Daniel 1 and learn about self-control.  They'll talk about how the Holy Spirit helps us make good choices and act in good ways.

BIBLE STUDY TOMORROW

CHILDREN'S CHOIR RESUMES TOMORROW
Tomorrow night Wednesday, August 24, is our first Children's Choirs rehearsals. All children aged 4 years through beginning 5th graders are wanted and welcomed. Meet in the fellowship hall shortly before 5:45 p.m. for a brief meeting.  We look forward to making great music with our children again this year. FOOD TRUCKS AUGUST 25
We will have food trucks returning to Morningside this Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Invite all your friends and family to come! Any help with the setup and breakdown will be appreciated.
 
CONGREGATIONAL LUNCH 
If you have not already notified us of your attendance at the congregational lunch then please do so as soon as possible. The congregational lunch will be provided by Yeah Burger on Sunday, August 28 at noon
.
PRESBYTERIANS SUPPORT EDUCATION
We are partnering with John Wesley Dobbs Elementary School in order to get to know them and vice versa.  Dobbs is served by our own Leslie Grant on the school board.  We are meeting on Wednesday, September 7 at 7 p.m. in the Session Room.  The goal is to make plans and brainstorm some ideas about how to live out this partnership.  If you are looking for an opportunity to do something for someone other than yourself or your family, remember, there's nothing more Presbyterian than supporting education
 
ALL CHURCH RETREAT
That time of the year is fast approaching and we want to ensure you will be ready to join us!  Sunday, October 16 - Tuesday, October 18
will be our all church retreat in Montreat, North Carolina with Mary Louise Bringle as our speaker.
