Dr. Mark Douglas, professor of Christian Ethics at Columbia Seminary, will discuss income inequality as a reflection of contributor to social inequality.

Children
Preschool and Elementary children will continue to learn about the fruit of the Spirit.  This week they will hear part of Psalm 23 and learn about the gentleness portrayed in that verse. They'll talk about how we have a shepherd who gently leads us down the right path.

GALA CONCERT THIS SATURDAY
Be prepared to attend one major event that you won't want to miss. On Saturday, August 20 at 7 p.m.  Morningside presents "The Sound of Music: Morningside Sings Rodgers and Hammerstein." We will be accepting donations that will benefit MPC's music programs and the organizations we partner with in our Mission Ministries. Be sure to tell all your friends and family about it.  All are welcome to come!
 
CHILDREN'S CHOIR RESUME AUGUST 24
We are anticipating a great year with our children's choirs beginning Wednesday evening, August 24.  Please note a new beginning time of 5:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. with Jonathan Crutchfield.  Treble Choir (2nd - 5th grades) will meet in the choir room behind the fellowship hall stage from 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with Megan Mashburn.  All children are invited to attend.  For more information contact Jonathan at jcrutchfield@morningsidepc.org.
 
VOLUNTEERS FOR MPC
As we prepare for a new school year for MPC's children, we need to update our volunteer lists.  If you are interested in rocking babies in the nursery, playing with toddlers or leading preschool and/or elementary children, please contact Sarah Kate Bumgarner, sarahkate@morningsidepc.org, to be added to various volunteer email lists.  We need lots of new volunteers for this upcoming year!

FALL YOGA AND BODY SCULPTING CLASSES AT MORNINGSIDE
Yoga and weight classes are only two weeks away!  Yoga class begins on Tuesday, September 6 at 11 a.m.  Weighths to the Oldies begins Thursday, September 8 also at 11 a.m.  Sessions run for six weeks and the cost is $70per session, and twice that for both.  Questions or concerns can be emailed to Pam, RYT 500 at yogapam@bellsouth.net.  See you soon!
