"If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have an apple
. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas."

Please join us for Bible Study tomorrow, August 10 at 11 a.m. Gifted Bible student Jennye Guy will lead the study of how baptism of the Holy Spirit empowers us to be Jesus' disciples. Let Jennye know of your intention to participate jennyeguy@earthlink.net.
There will be a memorial service here at Morningside on Monday, August 15 at 11 a.m. Please continue to keep Helen Schroder and her family in your prayers during this time.
We are meeting again on Tuesday, August 16 at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for our potluck get together.  The topic this month is Food Insecurity.  If you have any questions or would like to RSVP to join our interfaith group, please let Anna Miles anna.miles@emory.edu. know

It is time to get ready to attend this year's production which will be the largest we've had so far! Saturday, August 20 at 7 p.m.  is a day you won't want to miss. Although there is no ticket price for "The Sound of Music: Morningside Sings Rodgers and Hammerstein," we will be accepting donations that will benefit MPC's music programs and the organizations we partner with in our Mission Ministries. Be sure to tell all your friends and family about it.  All are welcome to come!
Starting on Sunday, August 21 and continuing for six weeks, the Faith Development class will be taking up the issue of income inequality in the context of the faith imperative to work for social justice. We have assembled a remarkable group of presenters to help us explore the issue including a seminary ethicist and a visiting senior advisor to the Federal Reserve.
As we prepare for a new school year for MPC's children, we need to update our volunteer lists.  If you are interested in rocking babies in the nursery, playing with toddlers or leading preschool and/or elementary children, please contact Sarah Kate Bumgarner, sarahkate@morningsidepc.org, to be added to various volunteer email lists.  We need lots of new volunteers for this upcoming year!
