READY-TO-EAT MEALS ARE REQUESTED
ICM still needs tuna, salmon, and chicken (in can or foil pack), canned ravioli, beef stew, etc.  Please consider a donation of these items during this impromptu collection (through July 24) at MPC. Bring your donations to the Welcome Center baskets.  Contact Nancy Collins ncollins0209@gmail.com, 678.634.4572 with questions.

LGBT & FRIENDS
Come and be a part of an amazing group here at Morningside!  LGBT & Friends is an inclusive group of all ages that meets once a month for food, fellowship, and conversation.  Expect to join our meetings that are both enlightening and fun! We will have a group photo on the front steps after church this Sunday, July 24. Please stay after the photo for a brief 2016-2017 planning meeting.

TEACHER APPRECIATION LUNCHEON
MPC will partner with John Wesley Dobbs Elementary for a teacher appreciation luncheon on Wednesday, July 27. If you want to contribute to the table decorations which will be school supplies, contact Lynn Daniel lgd1@bellsouth.net

SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE
The Children's Ministry Mission Team is sponsoring a back-to-school event for children whose parents or caregivers frequently patron the ICM food pantry.  We need backpacks, paper, notebooks, folders, rulers, crayons, pencils, and pens.  Please drop your donations in the blue bin located in the Welcome Center.  If your child would like to help distribute school supplies and/or help lead games and crafts on Saturday, July 30 from 1 to 2 p.m., contact Elizabethsommerfeld@gmail.com.

YOUNG PEOPLE'S SACRED HARP SINGING CONVENTION
Morningside will host the Young People's Sacred Harp Singing Convention Saturday, July 30 at 9 a.m.  People from southern states will come together to sing hymns using the "Sacred Harp" style.  The convention welcomes folks of all ages and attracts the typical inter-generational cohort.  The name can cause a bit of confusion, but have no fear:  everybody is welcome - including those with "some chronological age!"  You do not have to know how to sing using shape notes. Contact Jesse Karlsberg jesse@jpkarlsberg.com for more information.
