THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
"We should not judge people by their peak of excellence;  but by the distance they have traveled from the point where they started".   -Henry Ward Beecher

WE NEED YOUR RSVP FOR LUNCH
Our spring congregational lunch is this Sunday, and we'd love to count you and your family in.  Please e-mail office@morningsidepc.org to indicate how many adults and children from your family we can expect.

INTERFAITH SUPPER CLUB
After a nice turn-out in April, the Interfaith Supper Club is looking forward to a second meeting Today, May 17, at 7 p.m. in Fellowship Hall where we will discuss what our different traditions teach about homelessness and poverty.  In a time of public ignorance about Islam and Judaism, we seek to learn from each other over a potluck meal.   If you would like to join us, please email Anna Miles anna.miles@emory.edu with the dish you will bring.
FOOD TRUCKS ARE BACK!
Come and enjoy great food from some awesome food trucks on Thursday, May 19 between 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.  There will be kid friendly events for all youth to enjoy!  All are welcome!

TRINITY SUNDAY
In the Liturgical year, this coming Sunday is known as "Trinity Sunday" - a day set aside to remember that there are three parts of God:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Trinity Sunday, like Christ the King Sunday, brings a portion of the Liturgical year to a close.  Much of our music this coming Sunday will focus on the Trinity, beginning with the much loved hymn, "Holy, Holy, Holy" which says: God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!"

DONATE TO THE VBS WISH LIST
There are 86 children coming to Vacation Bible School this summer, and it is going to take a lot of items to make the week happen for that many kids!  You can donate to the VBS Wish List by taking an item from the Wish List Board in the welcome center or signing up or an item online.  Donations can be dropped off to the basket in the welcome center by Wednesday, June 1.   Perishable food donations can be dropped off in the kitchen labeled "for VBS" by Friday, June 10.

MOZART AND BRAHMS
The Chancel Choir and soloists will present a concert of choral music Sunday afternoon, June 5 at 4 p.m. at MPC.  Mozart's "Missa Brevis in F Major" will be performed by the choir, soloists, and orchestra.  Brahms' "Libeslieder Waltzes" will be performed by our four soloists with Jonathan Crutchfield and Ben Leaptrott providing 4-hand piano accompaniment.  The concert is free.  A collection may be taken.  Invite your family and friends to join you.
