This Sunday, Julia Levy from the Global Village School, will be the guest speaker at the "Welcoming the Stranger" faith development series. This class meets in Room 201 at 9:45 a.m.
Preschool children will hear "A Wonderful Sight," a story about Jesus meeting with a blind man.

On Sunday, March 13, MPC will kick off its all age mission event by walking together at Atlanta's Hunger Walk. Folks are invited to wear their walking/running clothes to worship, if they like. Following worship we will make our way to Turner Field's Green Lot (755 Hank Aaron Drive). Onsite registration begins at 12 noon. The 5K Fun Run commences, followed shortly thereafter by the Walk.  You can join the Morningside Team (part of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta's team) by following this link and clicking "Join Team."  Proceeds from the walk will benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank and Intown Collaborative Ministries. This Sunday, February 7, youth will be in the Narthex and Fellowship Hall following worship to take up our annual Souper Bowl offering. All donations benefit the hungry served by Intown Collaborative Ministries food pantry.
The next Theology on Tap gathering will be tonight, February 2, at 7 p.m. Richard Brownlee will host at the home of Pam and Ken Sharpe (1700 Timberland Road, Atlanta, 30345). The program, delivered by Baron Mullis, will be "The Emily Post Guide to Etiquette for the Ancient Near-East." So, God really cares about how we treat each other, even down to coveting our neighbor's ***? RSVP to the church office office@morningsidepc.org.

Excitement continues to build for the class on shape note singing to be held this Saturday, February 6 from 10 a.m. to noon in Fellowship Hall. The event is free, but please register by February 4 (40 already registered). Send an email to Jonathan Crutchfield jcrutchfield@morningsidepc.org. Participants are asked to bring a vegetable or dessert (meet and drinks provided) and stay for "dinner on the grounds" after the singing is completed.

Children's Ministry will host the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper next Tuesday, February 9 in the Fellowship Hall from 5:30-6:45 p.m. This is a fun event for the preschool and the congregation. Children are invited to wear their pajamas! There is no charge for this event, but we do ask for donations of children's pajamas for Threads. Threads is an outreach of All Saint's Episcopal Church to serve and clothe children in our community. Entertainment for the kids will include a magician! We need volunteers to make pancakes and help with setup and clean up. If you would like to make a dinner reservation and/or sign up to volunteer, please email Julie Schoen, juliecschoen@me.com.
LGBT & Friends is excited to welcome the Rev. Dr. Joanna Adams to our February meeting! Please join us at the home of Kent Balch and Tony Fishpaw (1368 Northview Avenue, Atlanta, 30306) next Tuesday, February 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. Joanna's theme, will be "Dancing with the Bear of Religion and Politics in America."
