Children's worship bags are now available in the Narthex for any child to use while participating in worship. "God without us will not, as we without God cannot." - Saint Augustine of Hippo
What better way to celebrate the life and work of Dr King than to give back to our community in service? Please sign up and join with our Decatur neighbors Saturday, January 16. We'll work on seniors' homes, making needed repairs and doing yard work that these seniors have been unable to afford. There are jobs for the skilled, the unskilled, and everyone in between (however, volunteers must be at least 12 yrs old.) Volunteers will meet at the Solarium Community Center (321 W. Hill St. Decatur 30030) at 8:30 a.m. for breakfast and registration. Please bring your own water bottle for environmental kindness. If possible, bring tools and work gloves. This will be our 5th year of participation! Please sign up on the bulletin board in the Welcome Center hallway or contact Jack Klotz at 678.428.6255 or jacksklotz@gmail.com.
A few slots still need to be filled ASAP to meet our commitment to serve at the Shearith Israel Women's Shelter (1180 University Drive 30306). Volunteers are needed Friday, Jan 15 (one slot), Saturday, Jan 16, (two slots), and Sunday, Jan 17 (one slot). Volunteers arrive at 6 p.m., serve the evening meal (provided by other volunteers), visit with residents, and clean up the kitchen. We're done by 8 p.m. Male volunteers are welcome! Our work at the shelter has been an important part of Morningside's Mission Program for many years. If you have questions or would like to serve, please contact Phyllis Grimes at 404.226.5133 or grimes2230@bellsouth.net

A number of Morningsiders choose to fulfill their annual pledge or make special gifts to Morningside through the gift of stock or other securities. We are always happy to accept such gifts; we ask only that you notify MPC Treasurer Randy Parrish when you initiate a transfer of securities so that we can make sure you receive proper credit for your gift. Should you have questions or wish to make a gift of securities, email randyparrish@bellsouth.net. We thank you for your continuing support of the work and ministry of Morningside.
The church office will be closed Friday, January 1.
