THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless. - Mother Teresa

The group will meet tonight, October 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. This month's program will revisit the very first topic that LGBT & Friends explored, "What the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality," led by Baron Mullis. For more information and to RSVP, contact lgbtandfriends@morningsidepc.org.

MEDITATION AND DISCUSSION GROUP
Morningside's meditation group meets this Sunday, October 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the home of Pam and Ken Sharpe (1700 Timberland Road, 30345). A light dinner will be served followed by discussion and meditation. The evening takes about two hours. RSVP to kensharpe@bellsouth.net.

CLIFTON SANCTUARY MINISTRIES
There is a lot to celebrate at Clifton Sanctuary Ministries! Join us Sunday, October 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. to celebrate Prince Davies-Venn's retirement after 15 years of ministry and service to Clifton. We will honor his ability to transform lives, and we will also honor this year's Clifton graduates. We will have music and surprises followed by some brief remarks. Dinner will be served at 5:20. For more information, please contact Jack Klotz jacksklotz@gmail.com. Visit www.cliftonsanctuary.com/media/annual-dinner-graduation/ to buy tickets.

MITTEN TREE COLLECTION FOR OUR HOUSE THROUGH OCTOBER 30
October brings cooler weather and our annual collection of new mittens, gloves, hats and scarves for the children at Our House. Gently used coats and sweaters may also be donated. Please hang your gifts on the Mitten Tree, which will blossom in the preschool alcove throughout the month of October, or place them in the basket in the welcome center. Our House is a childcare and support center located in Decatur that serves children and families facing homelessness.

HALLOWEEN COSTUME COLLECTION FOR OUR HOUSE THROUGH OCTOBER 18

Do you have outgrown costumes cluttering your closets from years past? We are collecting gently used costumes for the children of Our House so that they can take part in the childhood tradition of dressing up for Halloween. Drop off any size costume up to size 6 in the welcome center by Sunday, October 18.

SAVE THE DATE!
November 15 is an important date in the history of Morningside Presbyterian Church. This year, on that date, MPC will celebrate its 90th anniversary! We will commemorate the special day with a Worship Service and Celebration Luncheon highlighting our congregation's past, present and future. Please mark your calendars for November 15 - we hope you'll join us!
