A class on C.S. Lewis' classic, "The Screwtape Letters," led by Drew Stockstill begins this Sunday. Please acquire a copy of the book and read along with the class. This class will meet through October 11 in Room 201 and begins promptly at 9:45 a.m.

INTOWN COLLABORATIVE MINISTRIES


The ICM food bank is currently low on food supplies. If you can help, a list of needs follow: tuna, peanut butter, jelly (especially in squeeze bottles), instant oatmeal, instant grits, powdered and shelf-stable milk, soup, canned fruit, canned vegetables - all kinds, Chef Boyardee (or similar), canned chili, Spam (or similar).

 
Please place your donations in the Welcome Center baskets by Friday, September 25.

MISSION TRIP TO NEW ORLEANS
Morningside will make its sixth mission trip to New Orleans WednesdayNovember 4 through Sunday, November 8. We will work with Rebuilding Hope in New Orleans (RHINO), an urban outreach ministry of St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church. There is a place for everyone at the worksites, including homebuilding with Habitat for Humanity, working in community gardens, volunteering at food banks, and other activities with RHINO community partners. We will stay at the Brent House Hotel (cost: approximately $250 per person). Contact Roland Behm roland.behm@gmail.com for more information or to indicate your interest. THURSDAY THEOLOGY

THRIVING AND SURVIVING
If you are the mother of a young child (or a mother to be), join us Monday, September 21 at 10 a.m. or Thursday, October 1 at 7 p.m. in Room 201. Facilitated by Dr. Sarah Juul, the mother of a young child and perinatal psychiatrist in private practice, we will discuss baby nurture, life changes, and coping and adapting resources. The free discussion needs a minimum of participants and will be limited to no more than 15. Child care will be provided, but children are welcome. TAI CHI RESUMES SEPTEMBER 22, 4:30 PM
Come experience the slow, relaxing movements of the ancient Chinese art of Tai Chi Chuan. Often called Meditation in Motion, this mind/body exercise is both relaxing and energizing. The Harvard Medical School cites over 170 randomized controlled research studies that show practicing Tai Chi can improve overall health while increasing strength, balance, and flexibility. MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THIS SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY
BIBLE STUDY WITH BARON MULLIS
A year-long (September-May) evening Bible Study with Baron Mullis will begin Wednesday, September 30 at 7 p.m. The class is for those who have studied the Bible and for those who feel they know nothing. There will be a $60 cost to attend which includes a Bible and study materials. Supper is included the first week, and there is an opportunity to order supper each week following.
