This fall we are focusing on deepening our engagement with and understanding of the Bible. We continue this Sunday with Drew Stockstill leading a conversation on why the Bible matters for Christians today and how committing to reading God's Holy Scriptures as a regular practice can deepen our faith and strengthen our discipleship. This class meets at 9:45 a.m. in Room 201.

CHILDREN
Preschool children will engage in hands-on activities about color and light as follow-up for
Blue and Green and Purple Too!

FOOD TRUCKS RETURN THIS THURSDAY, AUGUST 27
Come enjoy the food of SnoBayou, Crepe Suzette, and Just Loafin' with your Morningside friends.  The trucks will be in the parking lot from 5 to 8 p.m.

MORNINGSIDERS IN MISSION
This 
Friday, August 28, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., volunteers are needed to build a playground for the homeless kids served by Our House. Volunteers should come in closed-toe shoes. Gloves, goggles, breakfast and lunch will be provided at 173 Boulevard NE, Atlanta 30312. Contact Lloyd Prince lloydprince@comcast.net or Jack Klotz jacksklotz@gmail.com to volunteer.

SHALOM CHURCH WORKDAY
This 
Saturday, August 29, there will be a joint congregation workday to support Shalom International Ministries. Work will be from 1 to 5 p.m. followed by dinner and a square dance from 5 to 7 p.m. The address is 5140 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain. To sign up, contact Lloyd Prince lloydprince@comcast.net

LITURGICAL ARTS DAY CAMP
Morningside is excited to offer a one day, hands on camp for children to explore the liturgical world through archaeology, natural sciences, and art. Jane Arant, an award-winning musician, will lead this dynamic, one day program offered to rising 4th through 6th graders this Saturday, August 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children are asked to bring their lunch. If your student would like to attend, email Anna Best office@morningsidepc.org to sign up.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
Plan to remain in the Sanctuary after worship this Sunday, August 30, for a brief meeting to vote on the terms of Associate Pastor Drew Stockstill's call. This is one of the few reasons the congregation is asked to meet, so please spare a few minutes for this important aspect of church membership.

THEOLOGY ON TAP
Ken Sharpe will host September's Theology on Tap next Tuesday, September 1, at 7 p.m. (1700 Timberland Road, Atlanta 30345). RSVP to the church office office@morningsidepc.org.

CONGRATULATIONS TO...
Brian Johnson and Bryan Rogers on their new addition to their growing family.  Stella Lee Johnson-Rogers arrived in Georgia August 15. Big brothers and sisters are: Austin, Benjamin, Clara Ann, Emma, and Jason.

OUR SYMPATHY TO...
Nancy Coomes on the recent death of her husband Bob. A memorial service will be held in Morningside's sanctuary Thursday, September 10, at 3 p.m.  A reception follows.
