This fall we are focusing on deepening our engagement with and understanding of the Bible. We begin this Sunday with Drew Stockstill leading a two-week conversation on why the Bible matters for Christians today and how committing to reading God's Holy Scriptures as a regular practice can deepen our faith and strengthen our discipleship. This class meets at 9:45 a.m. in Room 201.

CHILDREN
The Preschool Class will learn how Jesus welcomed children in the story Come to Me.

CONGREGATIONAL LUNCH - AUGUST 23 - RSVP DEADLINE EXTENDED
We always allow for visitors on the day of, so don't hesitate to invite your pew neighbor to lunch on the 23rd. Come enjoy lunch with us provided by The Flying Biscuit. There will be a blessing of the backpacks and a book sale put on by RHO readers. Suggested donations are: $10, adults; $5, children. CPR/FIRST AID TRAINING
The CPR/First Aid course for Preschool teachers and staff will be offered thisFriday, August 21, 9 a.m.-12 noon. The course is $30 and open to ALL; however, there is one opening left. If interested, contact Melinda Sandkam at mpp@morningsidepc.org.

ALL CHURCH RETREAT, OCTOBER 16-18
Join us at Montreat when our speaker will be The Reverend Paul Roberts, President of Johnson C. Smith Seminary. The early registration deadline is this Sunday, August 23 at the Congregational Lunch. Registration forms are available on the web and at the church.

MORNINGSIDERS IN MISSION
On Friday, August 28, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., volunteers are needed to build a playground for the homeless kids served by Our House. Volunteers should come in closed-toe shoes. Gloves, goggles, breakfast and lunch will be provided at 173 Boulevard NE, Atlanta 30312. SHALOM CHURCH WORKDAY
On Saturday, August 29, there will be a joint congregation workday to support Shalom International Ministries. Work will be from 1 to 5 p.m. followed by dinner and a square dance from 5 to 7 p.m. The address is 5140 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain 30083. LITURGICAL ARTS DAY CAMP

Morningside is excited to offer a one day, hands on camp for children to explore the liturgical world through archaeology, natural sciences, and art. Jane Arant, an award-winning musician, will lead this dynamic, one day program offered to rising 4th through 6th graders on Saturday, August 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children are asked to bring their lunch. If your student would like to attend, email Anna Best office@morningsidepc.org to sign up. This camp is limited to 12 students.
