This Sunday, July 5 the Faith Development Class will take a break for the Fourth of July holiday.

The class will resume next Sunday, July 12 at 9:45 a.m. in Room 201 and will follow another of our successful guided series of discussions about current topics.

"Science and Faith" will be co-led by Carol Senf and Sarah Tomaka. As citizens of both a world of science and the kingdom of God, many of us struggle to integrate what we learn from scientific advances against what we learn from scriptures, confessions and other aspects of our faith.

Each week stands alone and will cover faith seeking understanding through science, the cosmos, the story of life, human beings, brain and mind, and technology and the future.

The Church Office will be closed this Friday, July 3 in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.

You won't want to miss an evening at Emilie Paille and Jeanne McCarthy's home next Friday, July 10 at 7 p.m. (1413 Northview Ave. 30306.) Menu and other details will follow, but mark your calendar and let us know if you're able to attend! RSVP to Kathy and Alan Bremer 404.403.3266, kdbremer@bellsouth.net. We will hiatus in August and get back together September 11. Hosts are needed for the second Friday of September, November and December (The Framptons will host in October.)

It's that time of year again that we collect household items that make up the Welcome Home Baskets for the men of Clifton Sanctuary Ministries. The items will be collected over the next several weeks at which point the baskets will be assembled by this year's Mission Camp attendees. There is a bulletin board at the entry way with slips of paper listing the items needed. Simply take the slips for the items you wish to provide and return the items to the Welcome Center by

July 12. If you have any questions, feel free to contact David Johnston at 617.233.2004 or dmjohnst@gmail.com.

In the spirit of Mission camp, please join the Smith-Nix family in serving a meal to the men of Journey Shelter on Sunday, July 12 at 6:45 p.m.  We will first share the joy of serving a meal to the 30 men of Journey, and afterwards parents and kids are welcome to share a meal and fellowship together at Fellini's Pizza on Ponce.  Please look for a sign-up sheet on the Mission bulletin board or contact Shepherd Tamara Nix about your interest in participating in this event (Tamara Nix, tamaranix@alumni.duke.edu, 404.805.8955).

With 21 attending this year's Mission Camp, July 20-24, we will need 5 drivers per day to make it to our outreach locations.  Contact Melinda today to let her know which day(s) - full day or morning or afternoon you would be able to help us out. The first morning, Monday, July 20, we will be here at MPC, but need two more chaperones (no driving required). These roles are all lead volunteers which requires background and driving checks, so please sign up early so we can get everyone set.  See our Mission Camp bulletin board across from the Session Room 103 for more detailed needs.
