THOUGHT OF THE WEEK

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. - Eleanor Roosevelt

PLEDGE SUNDAY
This Sunday, March 15 is Pledge Sunday for our Standing and Serving for Generations Capital Campaign.  During the service, we will bring our pledges to the communion table.  As was reported two weeks ago in our Minute Message, we are already over 2/3 of the way to our goal of $1.5 million dollars and we hope to cross the finish line on Sunday with the help of all who have not yet pledged.  Please consider prayerfully what you can do and understand that this is sacrificial giving above your annual commitment to the church.  This pledge has tax benefits over the next three years and will help us increase our financial independence, take care of our existing building, invest in Christian education and create a Mission Fund.

ONE GRAY HAIR LUNCHEON

The One Gray Hair group will have their lunch and program tomorrow, March 11 at noon in Fellowship Hall. Elizabeth Rice and Drew Stockstill will share a conversation about the missions of the Presbyterian Church yesterday, today and tomorrow. We look forward to seeing everyone. RSVP to the Brownlees rsbrownlee1046@att.netso they can get an accurate count for food.

POETRY GROUP
The Poetry Group, led by Baron Mullis, will meet this Thursday, March 12, in Baron's office at 12:30 p.m. No knowledge of poetry is required - just an honesty to talk about life experiences, faith and how we can encounter the Word in fresh ways. You are welcome, but not required, to bring lunch with you.

COUPLES GROUP IN MARCH
Our Couples Group will not meet in March. Mark your calendars for April 10 at the Danekers. For information will follow soon.

SIX STAR REFUGEE FAMILY UPDATE
Robin, the father in the Masih family from Pakistan, is in great need of a job, ideally in the construction or warehousing fields. He is an experienced heavy equipment and fork lift operator but is willing to do any kind of work that will earn him enough money to support his family. He now has a car, so he can travel to work sites. If anyone has contacts in such companies or with temporary construction staffing agencies, please contact Holly Campbell at hollycampbell1@gmail.com or 404.435.0676.  (P.S. If you contacted Holly in October about this, please get in touch again as the circumstances have changed.)

DID YOU KNOW...that Tom Daniel, Vice Chancellor, External Affairs, is retiring after 40 years in state government? Tom was honored in a ceremony at the Capitol for his long service to the University System of Georgia on Monday, March 9?
