THOUGHT OF THE WEEK

To affirm that God is God is to want to live in a particular way. - Miroslav Volf

STANDING AND SERVING FOR GENERATIONS
The much anticipated capital campaign for Morningside launched on Sunday with the burning of the note for the Phase I construction loan on the Welcome Center. You will hear more each week about the key components of the campaign. "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." - Matthew 6:21

POETRY GROUP
The Poetry Group, led by Robert Gray and Baron Mullis, will meet this ThursdayFebruary 12, in Baron's office at 12:30 p.m. No knowledge of poetry is required - just an honesty to talk about life experiences, faith and how we can encounter the Word in fresh ways.  You are welcome, but not required, to bring lunch with you.

COUPLES GROUP
Our Couples Group will meet at 7 p.m. this Friday, February 13. All couples are welcome!  For more information contact the Bremers kdbremer@bellsouth.net.

CONGREGATIONAL SOCIAL HOUR MARCH 1
WILL BE ALL ABOUT BABY STOCKSTILL

Drew and Ellen Stockstill are expecting their first child, a baby girl, sometime around the end of March. The congregation is invited to celebrate with them during our social time after worship on March 1. This isn't a shower, exactly-simply a time to rejoice and celebrate with Drew and Ellen. Should you want to provide a gift, the Stockstills are registered on "BabyList" ( http://babyli.st/ baby-stockstill). Consider grouping up to get something.  Gift cards are also a great help. Amazon, Target, and Whole Foods are favorites, so Drew and Ellen could select items they find they need but do not already have. For more information, contact Cindy Humphries cindy52@bellsouth.net or Sarah Brownlee rsbrownlee1046@att.net.

CONGRATULATIONS TO:
James Klotz for passing all of his PC (USA) ordination exams.

OUR SYMPATHY TO:
Richard and Sarah Brownlee on the death of Sarah's aunt, Mandanie Goodwin Scruggs who was 105 years old.

Did you know:
that 2015 marks ten years of the inimitable Melinda Sandkam's ministry at Morningside?  So for the woman who brought us Season of Service, we now offer Season of Surprises.  If you would like to participate in one of several surprises planned to show our love to Melinda (or even to plan one) please contact Baron or a member of the Human Resources team.
