THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder. - G.K. Chesterton

CHURCH OFFICE

The Church Office will be closed this Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28 in observance of Thanksgiving. We hope you and your family enjoy the holiday!

NEW "OUR DAILY BREAD" AVAILABLE

Copies of the devotional booklet, Our Daily Bread, (December through February) are available in the Narthex and Welcome Center. We invite you to pick one up.

ADVENT BANNERS

Beginning this Sunday we will have the opportunity to once again enjoy our lovely Advent banners. Advent means a coming or arrival.  The Advent banners represent the coming of the promises of God through Christ Jesus.  The title of the banners is "Heart Root Promises of God; Hope, Peace, Joy, Love."  Using purple batiks the living, powerful energy of the Holy Spirit represents bringing forth the promises through Christ into the world.  Colors of green, blue, pink and gold batiks represent the power and ever continuing evolution of these promises.

CHURCH WIDE ADVENT FAITH DEVELOPMENT

Tell Me the Stories of Jesus:  Sharing our Faith with Children and Others

How do we share our faith with children and others?  Stories make a connection to our lives.  Come hear how we connect and learn through stories. All ages and stages are encouraged to join in Room 201 at 9:45 a.m.November 30, December 7, 14, and 21. The class is lead by Laura Fillyaw and Lynn Daniel. Start Christmas week in a fun and truly unique way and bring kids, family, neighbors and friends on December 21 for a very special guest. Southern Order of Storyteller, Jonah McDonald will be telling stories! All are welcome!

WOMEN'S ROUNDTABLE

Members and friends are invited for dinner and fellowship on Monday, December 1, at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Lynn Young, 277 The Prado, 30309. Please join us as we all share our holiday memories and traditions, and prepare for the season of Advent. RSVP to Sarah Brownlee rsbrownlee1046@att.net.
