THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is to not stop questioning. - Albert Einstein, Relativity: The Special and the General Theory

USING OUR GIFTS
Why do we? Every fall and winter, our pledges allow the church to forecast how much it will receive in offerings and to plan an annual budget. Pledging is a deeply personal matter, and there is no uniform guidance. But we can reflecton our connection to the church, our faith in God, and prayerfully consider our giving.

LGBT & FRIENDS - THIS EVENING
This month's program, "Encountering the Spirit of God," will be facilitated by Mardee Rightmyer.  The discussion, including dinner is this evening, October 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home of Julie Green and Mardee Rightmyer, 2707 Pharr Road near East Lake, 30317. All are welcome. RSVP tolgbtandfriends@morningsidepc.org.

THURSDAY THEOLOGY

FOOD TRUCK FESTIVITIES THIS THURSDAY
Come for fun fall festivities and yummy food this Thursday, October 23. There will be pumpkins to color and decorate, and s'mores for everyone to enjoy. BYOP! Bring your own pumpkin to carve if you like; we'll have the tools and stencils you'll need.

WOMEN'S ROUNDTABLE
This month we welcome MPC member Ellen Brown Landers who will talk about The Georgia Justice Project. GJP works to break the cycle of poverty by defending the indigent, criminally accused and working to address barriers to economic stability that they face. All are invited to join us for dinner and conversation on Monday, October 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Lynn Young, 277 The Prado, 30309. RSVP to Sarah Brownlee.

OUR HOUSE
The Our House mission is to break the chain of homelessness by providing early childhood education and comprehensive support services for families experiencing homelessness.
  • Through October 31 we will collect gently used or new items for the Mitten Tree to benefit the children of Our House (mittens, gloves, hats, etc.). Place your donations on the tree outside of Room 107.
  • We will also collect Halloween costumes - ages infant-5 years. See the Preschool Halloween Board for specific needs and bring in a new/gently-used costume by Friday, October 24.

Contact Becky Schreiber becky.schreiber@gmail.com with questions. Thank you for your support.
