THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
I believe in getting into hot water; it keeps you clean. - G.K. Chesterton

RECITAL THIS SUNDAY, JULY 13!
MPC member Pam Sharpe invites you to her recital featuring "Samuel Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915 (1949)" at 4 p.m. in Morningside's sanctuary (assisted by Walter Huff on the piano). A reception will follow.

CLIFTON WELCOME HOME BASKETS
During the summer, MPC gathers items to make five "Welcome Home" baskets for graduates of Clifton Sanctuary Ministries. These men receive these laundry baskets full of practical items such as toiletries and dry food to help them continue on their journey away from homelessness. Please visit our display in the Welcome Center and claim a requested item or two to return bythis Sunday, July 13. It's as easy as buying an extra box of pasta on your next grocery run! Thank you for all your help. Please contact David Johnstondmjohnst@gmail.com for any questions.

MPC YOUTH MISSION TRIP
This Saturday, July 12, seven youth, who are rising eighth graders, will travel to Government Street Presbyterian Church in Mobile, Alabama. They have signed up for a week of mission and service on the bay through July 18. Please keep them in your prayers.

DRIVER/CHAPERONES NEEDED FOR MISSION CAMP
There are 17 kids registered for elementary age Mission Camp and 17 more for Youth Track Mission Camp July 21-25.  That totals 34 attendees that we must transport to off-site outreach projects each day Monday-Wednesday.  Check your calendars NOW and let Melinda know if there is a day (or half day) that you can drive/chaperone to help us make this hands-on experience a reality for the children and youth of our church.  We must secure volunteers NOW so that you have
the time to review the Child Protection Policy before the actual camp - any off-site volunteers are considered lead volunteers, which includes reading of CPP, a one hour training video on-line and background check (including driving record).

CAR WASH

Support Mission Camp by bringing your car to be washed on Tuesday, July 22, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.  The car wash is free, but we will be accepting donations for the Atlanta Humane Society.

CONGRATULATIONS TO
Jeff Peters on his election to Session to fill the balance of Bonnie Daneker's term at our recent congregational meeting.
