This Sunday, May 11, Drew Stockstill continues the class, "Life after Easter: A look at Resurrection Theology" in Room 201 at 9:45 a.m.  All are welcome.

CHILDREN 
Preschool children will hear the story A New Friend and learn what made Paul a strong spokesman for Jesus.  Elementary classes will read Daniel 3 and learn that three friends faced fire rather than worship the king.

RHO READERS
RHO Readers welcome everyone to talk with author Matthew Guinn about his novel The Resurrectionist via Skype next Sunday, May 18 in Room 201 at 1 p.m.  The Southern novel describes early efforts to obtain cadavers for medical research.

SAYING "THANK YOU" FOR A JOB WELL DONE
As we look ahead to the arrival of Mason Copeland as Morningside's new organist/choirmaster, we owe a deep word of thanks for a job well done to Robert Bolyard, interim choirmaster, and Sarah Martin, interim organist.  They have truly accomplished the task of bridging the time between Walter Huff and Mason. Say "thank you" to Robert and Sarah at our Congregational Lunch onMay 18.

SUPPORTING SENIORS
Our annual collection for the Emergency Food Pantry at Calvin Court Presbyterian Home for Seniors begins this Sunday, Mother's Day, and continues through May 25. Items requested include: canned meats (especially chicken), soup (low sodium), hot cereal packets (Grits, Oatmeal), evaporated or powdered milk, peanut butter, crackers, canned fruits or vegetables.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL, JUNE 16-20
All Aboard the Ark Vacation Bible School is for those who will be four years old by September 1 through 5th grade (with youth leadership opportunities). It is truly a lot of fun, and we need YOU to volunteer to be able to offer this program to the children of our community. Contact Melinda Sandkam to volunteer. Registration forms are available online and at the church. Deadline is May 25.

IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT ME - MISSION CAMP, JULY 21-25
This camp is for rising 3rd-5th graders and will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. all week with an overnight trip on Thursday.  Register by the June 1 deadlinewith forms found on the bulletin board across from the Nursery Room 105 or online.  We also offer a Youth Track Mission Camp the same week. Contact Melinda Sandkam msandkam@morningsidepc.org with questions.

ITEMS NEEDED THIS SUMMER
If you have realistic looking stuffed animals to loan or donate to the church for our Noah's Ark themed VBS, we welcome them (loaners will be returned afterJune 20). During Mission Camp, we can use newspaper to shred for puppies and the ICM food pantry needs plastic grocery bags. Please bring your donations to Room 001. 

MEDITATION WORKSHOP
How do we develop the "good soil" in our minds?  Meditation has been a Christian practice since apostolic times and is effective in calming the mind and allowing the Holy Spirit to expand in our hearts. It is a practice that has stood the test of time with untold numbers of meditators from all religions. Please join us for a Christian meditation workshop on Saturday, May 17 at 11 a.m. Ken Sharpe will cover what meditation is, why it is effective, and how we practice it.
