John Calvin: The Man, The Pastor and The Church He Influenced
Through April 13 Peter Cobb, Peter Tuuk, Aaron Pratt, Baron Mullis and George Stroup will lead a class exploring the 16th century Reformer and his ministry that transformed the church. The class will use Dr. George Stroup's book, Calvin, as a guide. Any and all are welcome to join the class in Room 201 at 9:45 a.m.      

CHILDREN 
Today the preschool class will hear the story of Jesus' meeting with Zacchaeus and have a chance to make their own play about the story. Younger elementary classes will read the Passion Story (Matt: 46-27:66) and learn of Jesus' arrest, trial, and crucifixion. 4th and 5th graders will be in worship.

YOGA
The Spring Yoga Session with Weights/ZEN workout will run April 3 throughMay 9 (11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in Room 201). The workout includes yoga, resistance training with dumbbells, and lots of stretching, music, and fun. The Spring Classic Yoga Session will run April 8 through May 13 (11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Room 201). This class is gentle and suitable for almost anyone. All classes are taught by veteran yoga teacher Pam Sharpe. For more information or to register, call Pam 404.217.5420

NEW MEMBER OPPORTUNITIES

PICK-A-PAN FOR JOURNEY
Please help provide a nutritious meal to the men of Journey Shelter onSunday, April 13. Pick up a pan outside the sanctuary and return your filled dish with the label to the church kitchen on Palm Sunday. We also need two people to serve the meal; if you can, please indicate this on the sign-up sheet on the Mission Board.  If you have questions or would like to serve in upcoming months, please contact Shepherd Tamara Nix,tamaranix@alumni.duke.edu, 404.805.8955.

BRAVES GAME
There are 7 tickets left for the church's outing to the Braves game on Sunday, April 13 at 1:30 p.m. This is a sold out game. Tickets cost $14 and are in section 413, rows two and three. MAUNDY THURSDAY
Each year, we offer a Mediterranean style dinner at 6:15 before our 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday worship service. Child care is available for the dinner and the worship service. All are welcome, but we do ask you to RSVP for dinner to the church office by Monday, April 14. We are seeking volunteers to help prepare our meal and/or serve or clean up.  Contact Melinda Sandkammsandkam@morningsidepc.org if you are able to help.

GOOD FRIDAY
On Good Friday, April 18 MPC will join with other area Presbyterian congregations for an introspective evening service. Combining pastors, members and musicians from Central, Druid Hills, MPC, and Shallowford Presbyterian churches, the service this year will be held at Shallowford at 7:30 p.m.

EASTER EGG HUNT
Mark your calendars for MPC's annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19at 11 a.m. Donations of candy-filled eggs are needed by April 13 (no peanuts please). Volunteers are needed in 2 shifts: Setup/Egg hiding 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. and Event/Clean-up 10:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.  Please sign up on the posters at church or contact Mary Hardy Holaway at maryhardyh@gmail.com to volunteer.

YOUTH GROUP 
Join the youth families Sunday, April 27 from 3-4:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall as we shower Chris Peters and Lauren Van Wicklen with good wishes for a happy life together and gifts to help them get settled in a home of their own. Chris and Lauren will graduate from Columbia Seminary this May and are seeking their first calls. During Chris' tenure as Youth Director we have grown from a group of 4 to almost 25, begun a tradition of summer mission trips and trips to Montreat, had confirmation class and our first Youth Sunday in 10 years.

GALA BENEFIT EVENING, SATURDAY, MAY 3
Twenty-five singers and musicians from Morningside are busy preparing the Spring Gala Benefit The Way You Look Tonight, Morningside Sings Jerome Kern. Classic American songs included in the performance are "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes," "Pick Yourself Up," "All the Things You Are" and "The Last Time I Saw Paris."  Donations received at the benefit performance will enhance the community ministries which Morningside supports. The performance is at 7:30 p.m.
