WELCOME VISITORS!
Thank you for worshipping with us at Morningside Presbyterian Church. To help us get a sense of who is worshipping with us today, please complete the information in the Friendship Pad at the end of the pews and pass the pads down and back again during The Concerns portion of worship. Special worship notebooks and books for children are located on the kiosk outside the sanctuary doors. During worship, the nursery for infants is in Room 105; toddlers 18 months through 2 years are in Room 112. Children through 5th grade are invited to leave after the Baptism for special activities. Preschoolers are in room G-11; K-5th grade are in Room G-1.

FLOWERS TODAY
Flowers in the sanctuary this morning are given to the glory of God by Michelle and Guerry Mashburn in memory of their mothers and grandmothers, and their niece who would have celebrated her 21st birthday today.

CATHY SCHREIBER GRADUATES
Today, we will honor Cathy Schreiber, our Seminary intern, during Fellowship Hour after worship. Cathy is completing her time with us as leader of Children's Worship and is graduating from Columbia Theological Seminary. Cathy's immediate plans are to return to her home church in Dunwoody to teach and lead.

MOTHER'S DAY OFFERING
On Mother's Day, Presbyterian congregations collect a special offering for residents of the Presbyterian Homes of Georgia, which provides exceptional services to senior adults who have outlived their financial resources. Please see the insert.
Today, we begin our three week collection of canned food for the pantry at Calvin Court's Presbyterian Senior Community. Lists of items needed, such as canned tuna, soup, crackers and peanut butter are in the Narthex.
Morningside Cooks, our very popular cookbook, makes a great gift for Mother's Day, graduations and weddings. Proceeds fund MPC mission projects. See the sale table during Fellowship today.

HELPING FEED THE HUNGRY
Children and adults alike, go to www.freerice.com to play a vocabulary game. For each word you get right, 20 grains of rice are donated to help end hunger.
Opportunities to cook for both Common Ground and Clifton will return. (We will provide Chinese food for Common Ground this month to give all the moms in our congregation a break today. Also, the children made lunches for Clifton Shelter last week.)

May 18: American Religious Cultures - Morningsider David Yntema will lead a class on how Sabbath-keeping practices shifted during the twentieth century in American religious culture. We will focus on the intersection of material concerns and spiritual values.
May 25 & June 1: Faith and Works in the Letter of James - In this two-week series, the class will study the Letter of James, a fascinating New Testament writing full of practical counsel for Christian living. The Epistle places a great deal of emphasis on faith that bears fruit through good works and moral living, claiming that faith without action is dead. We will discuss the relationship between faith and works, with particular attention to the implications for Christian discipleship today. This class is taught by Associate Pastor Chris Henry.
