Special Music Events

Music at Morningside has built a great reputation among musicians and music lovers. The excellence of Morningside's music program has attracted singers and instrumentalists from all over the Atlanta area and around the country. There are special music events that happen several times a year, including Palm Sunday, Easter, and the Advent season, which culminates in a well-loved candlelight Christmas Eve service.

Morningside is also pleased to be a venue for community musical events each year.  The Evening of Broadway in 2004 and 2006 directed by Choir Director, Walter Huff, brought unparalleled talent to our community. Each year, we are pleased to host a string quartet from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.  To celebrate the rebuild and enlargement of our 1956 Wicks pipe organ, Morningside Presbyterian hosted a concert by distinguished organist Donald Sutherland, Coordinator of the Organ Department at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in November of 2007.  Morningside then hosted the regional American Organ Guild meeting in January 2008 with another organ recital featuring renowned organist, Thomas Murray.
