In Our World 

Beyond our city, MPC takes part in national and global missions. We developed an on-going relationship with Honduras Outreach International; more recently, we have supported PCUSA’s Mission Initiative: Joining Hearts and Hands to fund an educator, Ingrid Renaeu, in Darfur, Sudan. Our children have used gift sales and Bible school collections to assist Heifer International. Morningside Presbyterian Preschool has partnered with a preschool in Barranquilla, Colombia to provide school supplies for students in need. The Center for Progressive Education in Soledad was founded in 2002 to meet the growing needs of the children of the community. We are also pleased to support the Presbyterian Coffee Project through Equal Exchange, a fair trade organization. All the church coffee is bought through this program. In 2008 we will send a team to Pearlington MS to help that devastated community rebuild under the auspices of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. We also have formed ties with Alliance for International Restoration (AIR), a reforestation program.
