WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY 

Welcome to worship at Morningside Presbyterian Church. 

Rev. Dr. Baron Mullis, Senior Pastor is our preacher, and Ms. Emma Neishloss, Associate Pastor Elect is our liturgist. 

• Large print hymnals and Bibles as well as hearing aids are available; ushers will gladly assist. 

• Please complete the information in the Friendship Pad at the end of the pews and pass the pads down and back again during the Concerns portion of worship. 

• Children are welcomed and encouraged in worship every Sunday. Worship bags for children can be found in the Narthex. 

• Childcare for 0-23 months is in Room 105, and Room 012 for 2 and 3 year olds. 

• Pre-K/K go to Room 001. 

 

WORSHIP READINESS 

Last week we began our Worship Readiness Class for all elementary children during the 11 a.m. worship hour. We ask that all elementary children (and parents too) join this class. This class meets on the 1st, 3rd and 4th Sundays through March 18. During these Sundays, we will dismiss during the passing of the peace and meet in the Youth Room (Room 107) down the nursery hall. 

 

FLOWERS 

The flowers today are given to the Glory of God in memory of Robert Anthony Stack who passed away January 26, 2018 by Jane Stack. 

 

TAI CHI 

It’s not too late to join the Tai Chi 8-week class. Join us each week at 4:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. If you would like to be part of this group, contact Bob Wells at wellscom@comcast.net

 

INTERESTED IN GOING TO EUROPE? 

Join Jonathan Crutchfield today at 12:15 p.m. in Room 201 to hear about this awesome opportunity. The Choir has been invited in June 2019 to sing in Salzburg, Vienna, and Prague. Non-singers are invited to go. Let’s make this a church-wide trip. 

 

YOUTH CHOIR IS BEGINNING AGAIN! 

Youth Choir will begin Feb. 11. Come sing with Shannan O’Dowd at 5:30pm. 30 minute rehearsals! 

 

THEOLOGY ON TAP 

Theology on Tap will be hosted by Peter Cobb on Tuesday, February 6 at 7 p.m. (1150 St. Charles Place, Atlanta, 30306). Please join us this evening as we get to know Emma Neishloss. Please RSVP to office@morningsidepc.org

 

REBECCA’S TENT 

Male and female volunteers are welcome to join us at Shearith Israel Women’s Shelter, Rebecca’s Tent. We have committed to work from Wednesday, February 7 to Sunday, February 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. Please sign up on the Mission Board outside the church office if you can help. For questions, contact Phyllis Grimes grimes2230@bellsouth.net. We are also collecting $10 gift cards (Walmart and McDonald’s) for Valentine gifts for the women through January. 

 

ICM FOOD PANTRY

SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER 

Mark your calendars for our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on February 13th from 5:30 to 6:45. Children are invited to wear their PJs. NEW PJs, underwear and socks will be collected for THREADS, an outreach to folks who need these items for their children. Coin banks will be distributed for children to raise funds throughout Lent for CHOA Programs like Coins for Clowns. Volunteer now for set up, greet and serve, or clean up for our pancake and pajama party. Many hands make light work in three short shifts. Contact Magan Ward magan.ward@gmail.com to volunteer.

HUNGER WALK AND RUN—FEBRUARY 25 

Morningside will participate in the 2018 Hunger Walk Run, and we are hoping that you’ll join our team. Not only will we have a great time, we’ll have a great impact against hunger in our community! The money we raise will go a long way toward helping our neighbors in need. And the need is great right now. More than 1 in 4 Georgia children now live in a home where hunger is a regular worry.
