CURRENTLY SEEKING CANDIDATES

Morningside is currently seeking a Director for our Children’s Ministries! If you have reviewed the specifications for what the job entails and believe you qualify for the position then please submit your application to directorsearch@morningsidepc.org

PLEDGE NOTIFICATION

As you think about fulfilling your pledge for this year or for the capital campaign, consider donating appreciated securities (stocks and bonds). Generally, this results in favorable tax treatment. Also, if you have reached age 70 1/2, remember that contributions from a pre-tax 401(k) or IRA are also tax advantaged. Consult your tax advisor for definitive advice. If you choose to contribute in this manner, please contact our church treasurer, Bill Humphries, for transaction instructions: bill48@bellsouth.net or 770.565.8490.

PLEASE PICK UP A TURKEY

Our family mission project for November is to collect coins each day of the month for Thornwell, a Presbyterian home that provides a loving and nurturing environment to children in need. Please pick up your cardboard turkey today outside of the Sanctuary and return turkeys and coins to the church no later than November 30th. office@morningsidepc.org

SOMETHING TO SNACK ON

Thanksgiving is a few days away which means there will be plenty of food at the table! If you have leftovers please bring them to the church kitchen on Sunday, November 27 before service begins. During fellowship hour on this day, we will have these edibles available to snack on.

Please join us in preparing and serving a meal for the men of Clifton Sanctuary Ministries on Saturday, November 26 at 5:30 p.m. Meal service begins at 6 p.m. and usually lasts an hour. ADULT CLASS

Next Sunday begins our Advent Series: People, Look East! — The songs of Advent and Christmas led by Michael Morgan.

CHILDREN

Children will learn more about Moses. In today’s scripture, Exodus 25-31:15; 35:4-40:38, we will hear about how the Israelite’s Tabernacle was a place for the people to meet together, learn about God, and worship. Today our church community also gathers to learn about God and worship together. The place we meet serves as a visual reminder for us of God’s presence, just as the Tabernacle reminded the Israelites God was with them.
