WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY

Welcome to worship at Morningside Presbyterian Church.

Baron Mullis, Senior Pastor is our preacher, Drew Stockstill, Associate Pastor, is our liturgist.

• Large print hymnals and Bibles as well as hearing aids are available; ushers will gladly assist.

• Please complete the information in the Friendship Pad at the end of the pews and pass the pads down and back again during the Concerns portion of worship.

• Children are welcome and encouraged in worship every Sunday. Should your child grow restless during the service they are invited to exit the sanctuary after the baptism to attend Sunday School.

• Preschool children-Room 011.

• Nursery care during the Sunday School and worship hours is available for Infants in Room 105, and in Room 012 for Toddlers and Two’s.

• Worship bags are available for all children in the narthex.

FLOWER TRIBUTE

The flowers in the sanctuary today are given to the glory of God and to celebrate the birth of Ida Josephine Ringenberg-Means, granddaughter of Sanda and Bill Means.

BAPTISM TODAY

Margaret Louise Loring, daughter of Julie and Jason Loring, will receive the sacrament of baptism this morning.

WHAT DOES OUR MUSIC FEATURE?

Today’s worship music features traditional Gaelic and American hymns arranged for handbells and handchimes by Arnold Sherman. Morning Has Broken incorporates keyboards, triangles, and wind chimes to feature lilting melodic figures and gentle rhythms throughout the beloved hymn and well-known Gaelic melody. Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us was composed by American musician William B. Bradbury in 1859. Sherman’s arrangement offers a flowing, peaceful presentation of this beloved hymn tune.

OUR SYMPATHY TO

Morningside members, Ellen Landers, who lost her father, and Gloria Joiner, who lost her brother.

DAILY BREAD DEVOTIONALS

New “Daily Bread” devotionals are now available in the Welcome Center and Narthex. Please feel free to take one with you.

CLARKESVILLE VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

This past week twelve youth and four adult advisors went to Clarkesville, GA for a mission trip. They were successful at leading a week long mission trip along with aiding in home repairs. Thank you for keeping our missionaries in your prayers.

ONGOING CAPITAL CAMPAIGN RENOVATIONS

WOW! Children’s Ministry renovations were completed before the start of VBS! The children and volunteers enjoyed the new children’s ministry classroom makeover. Only the punch-list and a few minor details remain. The unisex restrooms will be completed and ready for use within a couple of weeks.

With hot weather upon us, our top priority is to ensure that the preschool children remain cool this fall. The next phase of work is installation of the preschool HVAC systems. This work will begin in early July and be completed prior to the start of fall Preschool programs.
