WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY 

Welcome to worship at Morningside Presbyterian Church. 

•  Baron Mullis, Senior Pastor is our preacher, and Drew Stockstill, Associate Pastor, and Sarah Smith, intern, are our liturgists. 

•  Large print hymnals and Bibles as well as hearing aids are available; ushers will gladly assist. 

•  Please complete the information in the Friend-ship Pad at the end of the pews and pass the pads down and back again during the Concerns por-tion of worship. 

•  Worship bags and books for children are in the narthex and library. Nursery for infants/toddlers is in Room 105; 2-3 year olds are in Room 012. 

•  Children ages 3-10 are invited to exit to the narthex after the Peace of Christ where their teachers will take them to their classrooms. Threes, Fours & fives are in Room 011; K-3rd grades in Room 001; 4th-5th grades in Room 005. 

 

BAPTISM THIS SUNDAY 

Sawyer Wrightson Williams, son of Jason and Jennifer, will receive the sacrament of baptism this morning. 

 

ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING 

Presbyterians have a history of working together to build a more just, resilient, and sustainable future. We will take a special offering on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. When you give to One Great Hour of Sharing, you are supporting the gifts and talents of people and communities all over the world. 

 

ALL-AGE CHURCH WIDE MISSION EVENT 

Today, MPC will kick off its all age mission event by walking together at Atlanta’s Hunger Walk. Following worship we will make our way to Turner Field’s Green Lot (755 Hank Aaron Drive). Onsite registration begins at 12 noon. The 5K Fun Run commences, followed shortly thereafter by the Walk. You can join the Morningside Team (part of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta’s team) by visiting www.acfb.org. Proceeds from the walk will benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank and Intown Collaborative Ministries. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY 

Morningside will begin its 17th home with Habitat for Humanity soon. Along with five area churches, we will build a home for Ms. Angela Banks and her five children. The build schedule is Saturday, March 19, (skipping March 26 for Easter), April 2, 9, and 16 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We welcome all volunteers age 16 and up. PRESCHOOL INVITES MPC OPINIONS

Church members are invited to help Morningside’s Preschool develop its next three year strategic plan. Focus-group sessions will be held in Room 107 on Monday, March 14 at 9 a.m.; Wednesday, March 16 at 7 p.m.; and Thursday, March 17 at 9 a.m. 

 

“TRANSFORMING CONFLICT” SERIES

Adult Faith Development class schedule: 

•  March 13–Restoring Relationships 

God’s plans of reconciliation. 

Introducing the concept of the Circle Process. 

•  March 20–Transforming Conflict Daily 

Practice of active listening/paraphrasing in Circles. 

Introducing tools of conflict analysis for daily use. 

 

INTOWN'S CLOTHING CLOSET

It's time for spring cleaning, and ICM is running low on supplies at its Clothing Closet! They offer interview, work, and casual clothing (for men and women) and are located on the back side of Druid Hills Presbyterian Church (1026 Ponce de Leon Ave). Clothing donations can be dropped off Mondays from 10:15 to 12:30 or by appointment with our Clothing Closet Coordinator, Rev. Allen at allen@intowncm.org. Needed items include: shirts, t-shirts, pants (especially size 30 to 42), underwear (especially size small and me-dium), white socks, casual shoes, sweaters and hoodies, sweatshirts and pants, winter hats and gloves, and jackets and coats.

Interested in volunteering with LGBT & Friends, or fellow Morningside members? There are community service opportunities currently available with Habitat for Humanity as well as Intown Collaborative Ministries throughout 2016. THE EASTER EGG HUNT IS COMING UP!!! 

This year it will be held on March 26 at 11:00am on the front lawn of the church. All are invited to the great egg race! Crafts for the kids, coffee for the adults, and cookies for all is part of this annual event! If you would like to volunteer to help with the hunt email sarahkate@morningsidepc.org. We will be collecting filled-eggs in the narthex and welcome center for the next month. 

 

PRE-K SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION

Camp is offered on a week-by-week basis for five summer weeks (sessions are four days on the weeks containing Memorial Day and Fourth of July). Early registration deadline is March 18. Go to the preschool pages at www.morningsidepc.org for details. 

 

VBS 

Don’t miss out on all the fun! Register to volunteer with Vacation Bible School this summer. VBS is June 13 - 17, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Morningside Presbyterian Church. VBS is for children in rising Pre-K who will be 4 by Sep-tember 1, through rising 5th graders. Childcare will be available for children of volunteers who are younger than 4 years old. Adult and youth volunteers (rising 6th grade and older) are needed! Faith Development at Morningside 

ADULT 

This week we continue an ongoing study called “Transforming Conflicts” facilitated by Anna Miles in room 201. This week’s topic is “Restoring Relationships.” Anna will introduce the concept of the Circle Process and God’s plans of reconciliation. 

CHILDREN 

The Pre-K class will hear a story of Jesus’ meeting with Zacchaeus and have a chance to make their own play about the story.
