FLOWERS THIS SUNDAY... The flowers today are

given to the Glory of God by Leslie and Lloyd Prince

with large amounts of gratitude to our Morningside

family for seeing us through a fabulous first ten years

of marriage.

TODAY’S MUSIC... Shall We Gather at the River was

written by American poet and gospel music composer

Robert Lowry in 1864. It was originally titled

HANSON PLACE referencing the original Hanson

Place Baptist Church in Brooklyn, where Lowry, as a

Baptist minister, sometimes served. With delicate

and unexpected opening harmonies, the poignancy

of the hymn text comes through in today’s handbell

arrangement. The arrangement perfectly captures

the ebb and flow of Lowry’s beloved composition

and voyages through varying moods and styles and

before closing on a final, triumphant iteration of the

hymn before fading gently away.

SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM... This morning Lydia

Grace Stockstill, daughter of Ellen and Drew

Stockstill, will receive the sacrament of baptism.

Lydia’s grandfather, Stephen Murray, will assist with

the baptism.
