FLOWERS THIS SUNDAY

The flowers in the sanctuary are given to the glory

of God in celebration of the children’s education

at MPC.

COMMITMENT SUNDAY

Today is Commitment Sunday, and all are invited

to come to the front of the church to pledge support

for Morningside in 2016. Our pledges allow

church leaders to plan Morningside’s budget for

the year ahead, as 96 percent of our funding comes

from offerings. This year, we hope to increase our

pledges by 2 percent, which will help to increase

Mission as a part of the church budget.

TODAY’S FELLOWSHIP

Please join us during Fellowship Hour today as we

welcome our new Director of Children's Ministries,

Sarah Kate DeWyngaert, and her fiancé,

Robert Bumgarner. Bring your kids, enjoy a snack,

and get to know Sarah Kate and Robert. We are

excited to welcome them to Morningside.

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS

Today, Morningside members and their animals

are invited to gather on the lawn at 4 p.m. for a

special service in which we give thanks to God for

all of creation. Traditionally celebrated on the

Feast Day of St. Francis, Blessing of the Animals is

our opportunity to express our love for our pets

and to give thanks to God for them. This short

service welcomes all – as is our custom – but we

do ask that all are appropriately restrained by leash

or carrier. Please join in giving thanks to God!

CLIFTON SANCTUARY MINISTRIES

Join us this evening from 4 to 6 p.m. to celebrate

Prince Davies-Venn's retirement after 15 years of

ministry and service to Clifton. We will honor his

ability to transform lives, and we will also honor

this year's Clifton graduates. Dinner will be served at 5:20.

Visit www.cliftonsanctuary.com/media/annual-dinner-graduation/

to buy tickets. For more information, contact Jack Klotz

jacksklotz@gmail.com.

WOMEN’S ROUNDTABLE

Join us as we welcome Sarah Kate, our Director of

Children’s Ministries, tomorrow, October 26, at

6:30 p.m. Come see why our children and families

are excited about her arrival! After dinner together,

Sarah Kate will talk and give us a chance to ask

questions. Our intergenerational group meets

monthly and enjoys good conversation, good food

and wine, and great speakers who enlighten us

about opportunities to serve. The host is Lynn

Young, 277 The Prado, 30309. RSVP to Sarah

Brownlee rsbrownlee1046@att.net.

MITTEN TREE COLLECTION FOR OUR HOUSE
THROUGH OCTOBER 30

October brings cooler weather and our annual

collection of new mittens, gloves, hats and scarves

for the children at Our House. Gently used coats

and sweaters may also be donated. Please hang

your gifts on the Mitten Tree, which will blossom

in the preschool alcove throughout the month of

October, or place them in the basket in the welcome

center. Our House is a childcare and support

center located in Decatur that serves children

and families facing homelessness.

the lives of those whose race is run, who have kept

the faith, and whose witness lives on among us in

the communion of the saints. In our communion

liturgy, those who passed from this life this year

will be remembered with thanksgiving to God for

their lives and witnesses. If there are friends or

family who died in the last year whose names you

would like remembered in this prayer on All

Saints' Day, contact the church office.
