WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY

Welcome to worship at Morningside Presbyterian

Church. Drew Stockstill, Associate

Pastor, will be our preacher, and Erickson

Harris, will be our liturgist. Please complete

the information in the Friendship Pad at the

end of the pews and pass the pads down and

back again during the Concerns portion of

worship. Worship notebooks and books for

children are in the library. Nursery for infants

and toddlers is in Room 105; 2-3 year olds are

in Room 012. Children ages 2-10 are invited

to leave after the Peace of Christ for special

classes: Fours and fives in Room 011; K-2nd

graders in Room 001; 3rd-5th graders are in

Room 005.

FLOWERS THIS SUNDAY

The flowers on the communion table are given

to the glory of God and in loving memory of

Billy Southwood by Bill and Carol Southwood.

SING WITH THE CHOIR SERVICE MUSIC

Thank you to everyone who participated in

sing with the choir Sunday! We had a wonderful

time in fellowship Wednesday evening as

we rehearsed our anthem, No Mountain High

Enough. This fun spiritual, composed by

Charles Kirby, is a reflection of Romans 8:35,

37-39. Our choral response is from English

composer Charles Hubert Hastings Parry. He

also wrote I Was Glad, an anthem heard

around the world in April 2011 as Catherine

Middleton processed down the nave of Westminster

Abbey.

VBS DONATIONS

Our 'Around the World in 5 Days' Vacation

Bible School theme needs luggage to help make

it feel real as we travel by plane, boat, train,

hot air balloon and space shuttle to help those

in need. If you are willing to loan a few pieces

of luggage, please label and bring them to Fellowship

Hall this afternoon. They will be

placed back in Room 003 for pick up after

June 19.

MPP

The preschool ABC’s of Summer Camp still

has openings in 3s, 4s, and 5s. This camp is designed

for summer fun with weekly themes.

After a break next week for VBS, MPP Summer

Camp resumes on June 22 with six more

weeks. If interested, email Sarah Tomaka at

mpp@morningsidepc.org for more information.

In case of an emergency or urgent pastoral need,

please call BARON MULLIS 404.876.7396 x11,

404.398.3118 or DREW STOCKSTILL

404.876.7396 x14, 229.224.5557. You may also

contact the elder or deacon on call listed on the

back of this section.

SUMMER CHILDREN'S WORSHIP

Through the first weekend in August, we

combine our elementary-age classes to include

children who have just completed Kindergarten-

2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade. Leaders

will include parent volunteers, Amy Howell

and Melinda Sandkam. The older class attends

worship on first Sundays, and all elementary

ages are invited to attend worship on

July 5. (See our refreshed and replenished

children's worship books in the library. We

welcome your creativity in decorating our

cover pages.) All other age groups remain the

same. Children are invited to "move up" to

new age groups on Sunday School Kick Off in

August.

YOGA

June is here, and we proceeded into our summer

Yoga and Weights sessions last week.

There is still time to join the group, though.

For more information, contact Pam Sharpe

yogapam@bellsouth.net. The class will have a

long vacation for the month of August in order

to start refreshed in September.

MEN’S BREAKFAST

Come join us for breakfast and fellowship this

Wednesday, June 17 at 7 a.m. in Fellowship

Hall. Coffee, a good breakfast, a devotional,

and encouraging, lively discussion – what better

way to recharge midway through the

week? Contact Allen Burke

allen_n_burke@hotmail.com to RSVP or

with any questions.

THURSDAY THEOLOGY

Engage with a small but lively group of members

hashing out theological terms with Baron

in his office this Thursday, June 18, at

12:30 p.m.

DAILY BREAD DEVOTIONALS

New "Daily Bread" devotionals are now available

in the Welcome Center and Narthex.

Please take one with you for summertime

meditation.
