WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY

Welcome to worship at Morningside Pres-byterian Church. Baron Mullis, Senior Pastor, will be our preacher, and Drew Stockstill, Associate Pastor, will be our liturgist. Please complete the infor-mation in the Friendship Pad at the end of the pews and pass the pads down and back again during the Concerns portion of worship. Worship notebooks and books for children are in the library. Nursery for infants and toddlers is in Room 105; 2-3 year olds are in Room 012. Children ages 2-10 are invited to leave after the Peace of Christ for special classes: Fours and fives in Room 011; K-2nd graders in Room 001; 3rd-5th graders in Room 005.

SERVICE MUSIC

In the Lutheran tradition, Allein Gott in der Höh sei Ehr, is sung as the Gloria in the ser-vice. The Gloria praises God the Father, Je-sus Christ his son, and the Holy Spirit ac-knowledging the Trinity. This ornamented chorale is from the Great Eighteen Chorales that Bach composed while at Leipzig. Today, the chorale will be played with light flutes for the accompaniment and a cornet, com-posed of several stops, for the solo voice.

IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT ME!

Mission Camp registration deadline is to-day, Sunday, May 31 (for completed 2nd-6th graders). This five day experience for hands-on outreach for our children is July 20-24. We welcome volunteers willing to chaperone and drive to locations of pro-jects. Please check your calendar now for a half or whole day and help us make this a great opportunity for our children.

SUMMER CHILDREN’S WORSHIP

Memorial Day weekend to the first week-end in August, we combine our elemen-tary-age classes to include children who have just completed Kindergarten-2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade. Leaders will include parent volunteers, Amy Howell and Melinda Sandkam. The older class at-tends worship on first Sundays, and all ele-mentary ages are invited to attend worship on July 5. (See our refreshed and replen-ished children’s worship books in the li-brary. We welcome your creativity in dec-orating our cover pages.) All other age groups remain the same. Children are in-vited to “move up” to new age groups on Sunday School Kick Off in August.
