WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY

Welcome to worship at Morningside Presbyterian

Church. Drew Stockstill, Associate Pastor,

will be our preacher, and Baron Mullis,

Senior Pastor, will be our liturgist. Please

complete the information in the Friendship Pad

at the end of the pews and pass the pads down

and back again during the Concerns portion of

worship. Worship notebooks and books for children

are in the library. Nursery for infants and

toddlers is in Room 105; 2-3 year olds are in

Room 012. Children ages 2-10 are invited to

leave after the Peace of Christ for special classes:

Fours and fives in Room 011; K-1st grade in

Room 001; 2nd-3rd grade in Room 003; 4th-5th

grade in worship.

SERVICE MUSIC

Thomas Tallis (1505-1585) served the royal chapel

for many years under various Monarchs. During

King Edward VI’s (1547-1553) reign, it was mandated

that the services be sung in English instead of

Latin and that music be short and easily understood.

If Ye Love Me is a classic example of these

new English anthems. They are mostly homophonic

with brief moments of imitation. Similar to other

early Anglican anthems, we find an ABB form,

the second section repeated twice.

KIDS SUPPORT DISASTER ASSISTANCE

In response to the tragedy in Nepal, the children

assembled Hygiene Kits that will go to Presbyterian

Disaster Assistance as part of their children’s

worship activity this morning.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

The Session has called a congregational meeting

for today immediately following worship for the

purpose of filling a vacancy in the 2015 class of

Deacons.
