THE CALL TO CONFESSION

THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION

O Lord, you taught us to love you and our neighbor, but we have not lived in right relationship with you or walked in the light of your love. We have not welcomed you into our lives and fall short when it comes to welcoming others in your name. Forgive us for the wrongs we have done. We know that the wages of sin are death. Yet we trust in your gift of forgiveness which is freedom and life in Christ...

A MOMENT OF SILENCE  (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)

THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Leader: Sisters and brothers, your sins are forgiven by the mercy of Christ. Be at peace, for you have been freed from sin that you may serve with righteousness, to the glory and praise of God. Hear the good news: in Jesus Christ you are forgiven.

People: Hallelujah! Amen!

*THE CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE  (Hymn 488)

You have eternal life implanted in the soul; your love shall be our strength and stay, while ages roll. We praise you, living God! We praise your holy name; the first, the last, beyond all thought, and still the same!

*THE PASSING OF THE PEACE

Leader: The peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all!

People: And also with you.

For the beauty of the earth, for the beauty of the skies, for the love which from our birth over and around us lies: Lord of all, to thee we raise this our joyful hymn of praise. For the beauty of each hour of the day and of the night, hill and vale and tree and flower, sun and moon and stars of light: Lord of all, to thee we raise this our joyful hymn of praise. For the joy of human love, brother, sister, parent child, friends on earth and friends above, for all gentle thoughts and mild: Lord of all, to thee we raise this our joyful hymn of praise. For each perfect gift of thine to all people freely given, graces human and divine, flowers of earth and buds of heaven: Lord of all, to thee we raise this our joyful hymn of praise. (text: F.S. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
