WORSHIP APRIL 30 2017
CONFIRMATION SUNDAY

11 A.M. WORSHIP

THE GATHERING  Baron Mullis

Leader: The Lord be with you.

People: And also with you.

THE PRELUDE  Trumpet Tune in D  Paul Laubengayer

*THE CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness, come into his presence with singing.

People: Know that the Lord is God. It is he that made us and we are his; we are God’s people, the sheep of God’s pasture.

Leader: Enter God’s gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless God’s name.

People: For the Lord is good; God’s steadfast love endures forever, and God’s faithfulness to all generations.

Leader: Let us worship the triune God, creator, redeemer and sustainer. - Psalm 100

*THE PROCESSIONAL HYMN 113  Christ the Lord is Risen Today!  LLANFAIR

THE CALL TO CONFESSION

THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Loving God, We sin, and you forgive us. We make wrong turns, and you reveal the right path. We fall down, and you help us up. You call us to spread your name, be kind to others, help the Earth, and care for children- however, we are not very good at any of it. Time and time again, we come to this space seeking forgiveness; for we know that you are all around us, and we know that you believe in us. Thus, grant us the strength to believe in ourselves. Help us to see you in our every day, and give us the will to read your Word into the brokenness of this world. We are grateful for you. We are sorry for the wrong we do. Forgive us for our sins. Amen.

A MOMENT OF SILENCE  (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)

THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Leader: By grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing: it is the gift of God - not the result of works, so that no one might boast.

People: For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life.

Leader: Believe the promise of the Gospel:

People: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. - Ephesians 2:8-10

*THE CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE (Hymn 119)

The three sad days are quickly sped, Christ risen glorious from the dead. All glory to our risen head! Alleluia!

*THE PASSING OF THE PEACE
