THE GATHERING  Landon Dillard

THE PRELUDE  Fugue on B-A-C-H No. 3  Robert Schumann

*THE CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: The world is filled with the glory of the Lord. Let us worship and give thanks.

People: The Lord is king! The world is firmly established; it shall never be moved. He will judge the peoples with equity.

Leader: Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it.

People: Let the field exult, and everything in it. Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy.

Leader: Come and worship God! - Psalm 96:10-12

*THE PROCESSIONAL HYMN 459  Father, We Praise Thee

THE CALL TO CONFESSION

THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Loving God, source of all that is and all that will be, everything we know is

your creation. From the mountains to the seas, from the smallest grains of sand

to the furthest stars in the sky, you have poured your love into our world. We

know this and yet we often forget to give our thanks to you. Our songs and our

prayers become simple repetitions of words. Help us Lord to remember that

our lives and this world are your gift to us. Give us the courage to put our

hearts fully into our worship of you. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.

A MOMENT OF SILENCE (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)

THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Leader: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come.

People: The old has gone, the new is here!

Leader: All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ.

People: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. - 2 Corinthians 5:17-18

* THE APOSTLES’ CREED

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
