THE PRELUDE  Now Praise We All Our God  Max Drischner

*THE CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Bless our God, O peoples
People: let the sound of his praise be heard.
Leader: Come and hear what the Lord has done,
People: the Lord who has made everything.
Leader: Let us worship God.    - Psalm 66:8-9; Acts 17:24

*THE PROCESSIONAL HYMN 555  Now Thank We All Our God

THE CALL TO CONFESSION

THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of grace and truth, in Jesus Christ you came among us in light shining in
darkness. We confess that there are times when faith is not easy. We confess that
we have not always welcomed the light, and have doubted the truth of your
good news. We have closed our eyes to glory in our midst, expecting little, and
hoping for less. Forgive our faithlessness and renew our hope that we might join
our voices with others, rejoicing and praising your name today and always.
Amen.

A MOMENT OF SILENCE  (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)

THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: Who is in a position to condemn us?
People: Only Jesus. And rather than condemn us; he died for us, was raised for
us, reigns in power and prays for us.
Leader: Friends believe the good news
People: in Jesus Christ we are forgiven. - Romans 8

*THE APOSTLES’ CREED  Baron Mullis
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in
Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified,
dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from
the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God
the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and
the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion
of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and
the life everlasting. Amen.

THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and
the glory, forever. Amen.
