* THE CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us.
People: That your way may be known upon the earth, your saving power
among the nations.
Leader: Let the peoples praise you, O God, let all the peoples praise you.
People: Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the peoples
with equity and guide the nations upon the earth.
Leader: Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you.
People: The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, has blessed us.
May God continue to bless us; let all the ends of the earth revere him!
Leader: Let us worship God, our creator, redeemer and sustainer, Amen.
- Psalm 67

* THE PROCESSIONAL HYMN 441 I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord

THE CALL TO CONFESSION

THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of love, you made us for love. You reached to us from across our sin to
make known to us the depth of your love for us. And yet, despite these profuse
declarations, we live as though you did not love us. We live as though we were
not created for love. We sin, and our hearts are not right within us. Forgive us,
we pray, turn our hearts and change us into the loving disciples you call us to
be. We pray this in the name of love incarnate, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

A MOMENT OF SILENCE (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)

THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: “So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner
nature is being renewed, day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing
us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure.
People: Because we look not at what can be seen, but at what cannot be seen; for
what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.”
Leader: Friends, believe the promise of the Gospel:
People: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. - 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

* THE CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE (Hymn 456)
Lord, I my vows to you renew. Disperse my sins as morning dew; guard my first
springs of thought and will, and with yourself my spirit fill.

* THE PEACE OF CHRIST
(Children ages 3-10 are invited to leave after the Peace of Christ for special classes. Threes, fours & fives
are in Room 011; K-1st grade in Room 003; 2nd-3rd grade in Room 001; 4th-5th grade in Room 005).

THE CONCERNS OF THE CHURCH

THE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE ORGANIST/CHOIRMASTER SEARCH COMMITTEE

THE FIRST LESSON Psalm 119:33-40 (page 535 in the pew Bible, OT)

THE ANTHEM Ubi Caritas  Maurice Duruflé
Where charity and love are, God is there. Christ's love has gathered us into one. Let us rejoice and be
pleased in Him. Let us fear, and let us love the living God.

THE SECOND LESSON 1 Corinthians 3:10-11, 16-23 (page 157 in the pew Bible, NT)

THE SERMON “God’s Temple” Baron Mullis

*THE HYMN 375 Lord of All Good

* THE APOSTLES’ CREED  Dana Hughes
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus
Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the
Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he
descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into
heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he
shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy
catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection
of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy
will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive
us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.
Amen.

THE OFFERTORY Chromhorne sur la Taille François Couperin

*THE CHARGE AND BENEDICTION

*THE CHORAL RESPONSE  Tollite Hostias (from Christmas Oratorio) Camille Saint-Saëns
